Colossians 4:2 says, “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” That is what we as a committee have done and it is what we have asked you, the congregation, to do along with us. This watchfulness in prayer was focused on two key areas:

  • Watching how God was working through our circumstances
  • Watching how God was working in the hearts and minds of the committee

The process has involved 4 weeks of an advertised job opening and 22 applications. God worked to bring us 1 and only 1 candidate, whom we interviewed. We had another applicant whom we were very interested in, but as we attempted to set up an interview, he withdrew his name from consideration. God was working through our circumstances.

Also, in the hearts and minds of our 9 committee members, God has provided unity in bringing us to this unanimous decision. It is with great joy and by faith that I announce the committee and elder approved recommendation. Our very own;  Samuel Parker.

We will make this statement, along with Sam’s cover letter and resume available online. He will candidate with us Sunday, August 6th and a member vote will be held on August 20th to determine the unity of the flock.

We would ask you to continue to be devoted to prayer throughout this process and to trust not only the work of this committee and the elders, but ultimately the head of our church; our Lord Jesus Christ.

The elders are available for any questions you may have as we move forward in this process by faith, with thanksgiving, and much joy.
